While discussing the update features document, the email alerts section was not quite clear and needs to be ironed out a little more.

Decisions:

  1. Email alerts only on pre-defined categories supplied by PLoS
  2. Email will be sent to users only once a week with articles in categories on interest
  3. If an article is in multiple categories, only a single link will be provided with categories listed
  4. Design will be specific for launch and we need to rethink alerts based on larger search and tagging issues post-launch
