I'm currently designing the masthead page slated for 0.9 and have run into ambiguities that will need to be resolved before I can finalize it. It's my understanding that a masthead page will be accessed in two ways, from an article or from search results:
1) If accessed from an article, then I would expect the masthead page to be titled something like: "PLoS NTDs Editorial Board at the time of publication of: <linked article name>, Published: <article publication date>".
2) If accessed from search results (e.g. searched for previous board member's name), then the masthead page would should be titled something like: "PLoS NTDs Editorial Board: Feb 7, 2004 - May 2, 2005".
A big question then is what is the relationship between a masthead page and an article? Is it 1-to-1 or 1-to-many? If it's 1-to-1 then a search might bring up a huge number of masthead pages - one for each article published with under that masthead. If it's 1-to-many and the masthead was accessed from an article, then we would need to clearly communicate that the article in question was published under that masthead and a way to navigate back to the article itself.
